Sony has refreshed its Bravia lineup with the launch of the Bravia 2 Mark 2 (2025). While it may look similar to the 2024 version at first glance, several upgrades and tweaks make it stand out. Here’s a detailed breakdown:
1. Design & Stand
The 2025 model features slimmer bezels on three sides, giving it a more modern, premium look. The stand design has also been updated from a triangular design to a sleeker, more minimalistic one.
2. Weight Reduction
The new model is slightly lighter, shaving off about 1kg compared to the 2024 version.
3. Audio Enhancements
The Bravia 2 Mark 2 (2025) supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby Audio, DTS-HD, and DTS Express, while the 2024 model only included Dolby Audio. For true Atmos experience, you’ll need a compatible sound system.
4. HDMI Ports
A major improvement — the 2025 Bravia offers 4 HDMI ports, all supporting ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode). The 2024 model had only 3 ports, with ALLM limited to a single port.
5. Wi-Fi Upgrade
The 2025 version brings Wi-Fi 6 support, offering faster speeds and more stable connectivity compared to Wi-Fi 5 in the 2024 model.
6. Bluetooth Upgrade
Bluetooth has been updated from 5.0 to 5.3, offering better energy efficiency and more reliable connections.
7. Brightness Adjustment
Interestingly, Sony has slightly reduced brightness in the 2025 version. This difference is only noticeable when measured with instruments, not to the naked eye.
8. Light Sensor Added
An ambient light sensor has been introduced, helping the TV automatically adjust brightness based on room lighting.
9. Motion Flow XR
The new model uses Motion Flow XR 200, while the 2024 model had XR 100. In real-life sports or action content, both perform well, but XR 200 offers smoother motion handling.
10. Picture Presets & Color Enhancer
A new Professional Mode has been added in the 2025 model (replacing “Custom”), giving more realistic picture calibration. Additionally, a Rich Color Enhancer has been introduced.
Software & Pricing
The 2025 Bravia runs on Android 12 out of the box, compared to Android 11 in the 2024 model. However, the new version comes with a price difference of ₹10,000–₹15,000, making the older model a better value pick for many buyers.
